“Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence in Conditions of Martial Law”: an Interactive Event at DSUIA.

The event was organized and conducted at the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Dnipro Municipal Center for Social Services.

The opening remarks to the participants were delivered by the event’s moderator – the Assistant to the Rector for Gender Issues, Doctor of Law, Professor Larisa NALYVAIKO. The speakers of the event were: the Head of the Specialized Service for Primary Social-Psychological Counseling of Victims of Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence at the Dnipro Municipal Center for Social Services, Vita VOLKOVA, and the leading specialist in social work at the Specialized Service, Marina SERDIUK.

The interactive event with training elements aimed to familiarize cadets of the educational institution with information on domestic violence, its types and forms, to expand knowledge about the causes and consequences of this negative phenomenon, including in conditions of martial law, and to provide information about institutions and organizations in the city that provide assistance to victims.

Representatives of DSUIA took part in offline discussions on problematic issues: Senior Researcher of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory for Research on Preventive Activities, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Police Major Iryna DROK; Senior Researcher of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory for Research on the Legal Status of Internally Displaced Persons and Gender Equality, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Tsagik OGANISYAN, and Head of the Psychological Support Department Serhii VYSHNEVSKYI.
