At DSUIA, the victims of the Chernobyl disaster were commemorated

The Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs held events to mark the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day.

On April 26, 2024, Ukraine honors the memory of the liquidators who died or suffered as a result of the Chernobyl disaster. First Vice-Rector of DSUIA, Igor Magdalina, along with veteran liquidators, participated in laying flowers at the “Chernobyl Bell” memorial.

In the conference hall, during the staff meeting, after the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine, all present observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of those who perished in the Chernobyl disaster. Rector Oleksandr Morgunov noted that thanks to the dedication of the liquidators, the world was saved from massive nuclear danger, and the bravery of the Chernobyl heroes serves as an example for the current generation. The Rector wished the veterans good health and long life.

Students and staff of the university prepared creative performances to present to the veterans.

On the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the tragedy, DSUIA students laid flowers at one of the monuments in Dnipro dedicated to the Chernobyl disaster.
