“International Police Cooperation”: Lecture by Latvian Expert Arsenijs MIHEEVS for DSUIA Cadets

Cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pretrial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs attended a lecture on international police cooperation.

The event was conducted by Arsenijs MIHEEVS, Senior Advisor on General Police Organization for the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM).

The lecture was held in English. In his presentation, the EUAM representative addressed key areas of international organizations’ efforts in combating organized crime and the importance of information exchange between EU member states for effectively countering transnational criminal groups.

Arsenijs MIHEEVS placed special emphasis on Latvia’s experience in leveraging Europol and Interpol’s resources to prevent crimes related to smuggling, human trafficking, and cybercrime. He also shared practical case studies from his own police work.

The cadets were highly engaged, asking numerous questions about the topics covered. Arsenijs MIHEEVS commended the DSUIA cadets for their level of preparedness and deep interest in the subject matter.

Background: Arsenijs MIHEEVS is a Senior Advisor on General Police Organization for EUAM. He has worked with the Latvian State Police, handling national and international criminal cases within Latvia, the European Union, and beyond. He has also served in field missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUPM) as a police advisor and team leader of police advisors, and in Georgia (EUMM) as an operations officer and head of an operational office.
