The psychologist provided detailed answers to the questions: why men are men silent about violence against them; how to understand that it is worth seeking help; how to support a man or boy who has experienced violence.
At the second meeting Polina Poplavska explained what should be understood by “red flags” in relationships between a man and a woman, and emphasized that they need to be recognized in order to protect oneself, avoid emotional trauma, build healthy relationships and avoid repeating scenarios of abusive behaviour, which ultimately leads to domestic violence.
The psychologist told in detail how to recognize and avoid abuse in relationships, because abuse often looks like something invisible, but has a deep destructive impact on the personality, self-esteem and psyche of the victim. The speaker emphasized that abuse is not always physical violence, but often manifests itself in psychological, emotional, economic or sexual pressure.
