MIA Lyceum, NEWS

Cadets of DSUIA and pupils of Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the meeting on the occasion of International Volunteer Day.

The event was organized by the general library of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs together with the head of the department of the modern Russian-Ukrainian war of the Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after Dmytro Yavornytskyi Hanna Teryanik.

Hanna Teryanik, who herself is a volunteer, emphasized the importance of volunteer work for supporting the army and vulnerable categories of the population (refugees, displaced persons). In her opinion, volunteering gives a sense of meaning, new experience and satisfaction from working for the benefit of society.

Participants were told about the activities of volunteer organizations, their contribution to supporting the military, displaced persons and vulnerable groups of the population. Young people learned about opportunities to join volunteer initiatives, about how even small actions can have a significant impact on the community and the country as a whole.

Discussed the main trends of our life: resilience and faith in the future, education, formation of personnel for post-war reconstruction, information war and language policy.

It was emphasized that in wartime conditions, the transition to Ukrainian became a manifestation of patriotism and support for statehood. According to the organizers, speaking Ukrainian is important for preserving national identity, unity and culture, because language is the nation’s code that transmits mentality, history and values, and its use strengthens solidarity, protects the information space from propaganda.

The listeners also became acquainted with the virtual book exhibition “Together we are strong”, dedicated to International Volunteer Day.

The event contributed to the national-patriotic education of youth, and also emphasized the important role of volunteering in modern society. The meeting motivated participants to show activity, help others and become part of a common cause for the development and strengthening of the state.
