Participation of DSUIA representatives in the simulation of a European Court of Human Rights judicial process

The event was organized by the European Law Students’ Association ELSA Ukraine and the legal youth public organization ELSA Dnipro with the aim of deepening practical skills and understanding of the mechanisms of international justice.

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by third-year cadet of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine Yuliia Tolmachova. Associate professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Process, Doctor of Philosophy in Law, senior police lieutenant Karyna Pisotska also took part in the event.

Participants joined a realistic simulation of an ECtHR court hearing, which allowed them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the judicial process and feel its dynamics. They improved skills of preparing a legal position and effectively presenting it before the “court”, became acquainted with the principles of operation of the human rights protection system and the role of the European Court of Human Rights.

The event contributed to the academic and practical development of participants, gave them the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in simulated court conditions.

At the end, all participants received corresponding certificates.
