“Interaction between the police and child protection services in cases of identifying a child who has suffered from domestic violence”: a practical class for DSUIA cadets

The event was organized by Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, PhD in Law, Police Senior Lieutenant Karina Pisotska.

The invited speakers were Inspector of the Juvenile Prevention Sector of the Prevention Department of Dnipro District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, Police Senior Lieutenant Maksym Dubovyk, and Head of the Child Rights Protection Department of the Children’s Services of Sobornyi District, Olha Yepikhina.

During the class, real-life situations were examined, action algorithms were practiced, and issues of coordination, documentation, and ensuring child safety were addressed. The program also included viewing social videos and analyzing communication approaches when working with affected children.

The event contributed to deepening students’ professional competencies, developing an understanding of interagency cooperation, and acquiring practical skills necessary for the effective protection of minors’ rights. At the end of the class, the cadets thanked the invited practitioners for their valuable advice and real professional experience.
