A thematic meeting with students was held at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repressions.

The speaker of the event was the Chief Specialist of the Second Interregional Territorial Department of the Office for Implementing National Memory Policy in the Regions and Subordinate Institutions of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Iryna Reva.

During the meeting, participants discussed the tragic pages of Ukraine’s history related to mass political repressions, persecutions, and human rights violations during the totalitarian regime. Particular attention was paid to the importance of preserving historical memory, fostering national consciousness, and preventing the recurrence of crimes against humanity.
The speaker introduced attendees to the activities of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, archival materials, and modern approaches to studying and reinterpreting historical events.
Саdets had the opportunity to ask questions and take part in a discussion on the importance of historical memory in building a democratic society and a rule-of-law state.
At DSUIA, educational events are systematically conducted to promote historical truth, national-patriotic education of youth, and the preservation of the memory of victims of political repressions.
