Practical Experience and Real Cases: DSUIA Held a Training Session with the Participation of a Military Officer

NEWS

A tactical medicine workshop was attended by cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine.

During the session, the cadets were introduced to the basic algorithms of providing pre-medical aid in emergency situations, in particular in cases of injuries, bleeding, and trauma of varying severity. Significant attention was paid to the correct use of tourniquets, the sequence of actions during casualty evacuation, assessment of a person’s condition, and adherence to personal safety rules while providing assistance.

The training was conducted in a practical format. The cadets practiced the acquired knowledge using training equipment, analyzed possible scenarios, and learned to make rapid decisions under time constraints. Typical mistakes that may occur during first aid provision and ways to avoid them were also discussed.

The participation of a military officer added particular value to the session, as he shared his personal service experience and real cases from the combat zone. The participants discussed with the guest the specifics of working in high-risk environments, interaction algorithms, and psychological readiness for actions in stressful situations.

Such training sessions contribute to the formation of essential professional competencies, resilience, and confidence in one’s actions, which are important components of effective performance of official duties by future law enforcement officers.
