The event on the topic «Digital Forensics» (Digital Forensics) was conducted by the Department of Language Training of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs within the framework of mastering the discipline «Foreign Language».
Participation in the event was taken by cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for the Bodies of Pre-trial Investigation of the NPU. The invited speaker in online format was the Chief Specialist of the Department for Persons Missing under Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Police Major Liliia Korostelova.
The cadets familiarized themselves with professional terminology and modern methods of investigations through the prism of practical experience in the use of OSINT technologies in the field of searching for persons missing under special circumstances.

The identification of persons using artificial intelligence, in particular the recognition of military personnel by tattoos, as well as the application of LLM algorithms (ChatGPT) for the reconstruction and improvement of the quality of digital images and faces was discussed.
Special attention was paid to the use of specialized software for searching for children and analyzing digital traces in open sources, which makes it possible to document the facts of illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens.
Liliia Korostelova emphasized that digital forensics and OSINT tools today are key to returning the names of fallen and missing defenders and every missing child, and knowledge of international technological standards and professional language is an integral part of the training of a modern investigator.
