The first barrier-free motor rally in Ukraine was organized by the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the MIA in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by the Head of the Department of Automobile Training, military veterans Yevhenii Khokhlov, military veterans, DSUIA employees Vladyslav Korzhenko and Andriy Shevchenko, as well as employees of the university’s motor transport support department.

Yevhenii Khokhlov delivered a welcoming speech and spoke about the activities of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA as a practical tool for implementing the state policy of barrier-free accessibility.

Employees of MIA service centers, representatives of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA, as well as people with disabilities in their own vehicles took part in the motor rally.

The Assistant to the Head of the Main Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Region for Veterans’ Issues Ivan Zmiievskyi joined the event.

The event began with a minute of silence to honor the memory of the fallen Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine.

The route of the column of participants ran through Zaporizhzhia Highway, Kosmichna Street and Naberezhna Peremohy and ended at the Festival Quay near the “Pier of Wishes”.

At the finale of the event, for active civic position, support of the principles of barrier-free accessibility and significant contribution to the formation of an inclusive and accessible environment for all, Yevhenii Khokhlov and the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA were awarded with thanks.

The participation of the university in such events confirms the consistent position of DSUIA: barrier-free accessibility is not a declaration, but daily practical work aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for every person.
