A Seminar-Training for Lecturers of Higher Education Institutions with Specific Learning Conditions Concluded at DSUIA

The events, aimed at ensuring high-quality training in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, improving the methodology of teaching specialized educational components (academic disciplines), and enhancing the qualifications of academic staff, were organized by the Department of Special Physical Training of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

Academic and teaching staff from higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard of Ukraine took part in the seminar-training entitled: “Specifics of Teaching Educational Components (Academic Disciplines) ‘Special Physical Training,’ ‘Special Physical Training of Police Officers’ (‘Physical Training,’ ‘Self-Defense Tactics and Personal Safety’).”

The first day began with entrance testing for participants. Representatives of higher education institutions studied topics related to sports injuries and safety techniques during the teaching of specialized disciplines.

The topics of the second day focused on means and methods of physical education, the force application model, as well as the classification and detailed analysis of techniques used during the forceful detention of offenders.

The third and fourth days were dedicated to the organization and methodology of conducting training sessions on the topic “Use of Physical Force by Police Officers.” Participants practiced tactics for responding to passive, active, or aggressive resistance from offenders, performing special combat techniques, as well as disarming and detaining offenders using throws, pain compliance and choke techniques, rubber batons, combined defense methods, and more.

In addition, the training concluded with final testing, a demonstration lesson, and a summary of the event.

Based on the results of the final testing and the demonstration lesson, Acting Rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalina presented participants with certificates of successful completion of the training.
