The event was conducted by inspectors of the operational monitoring department of the criminal analysis management of the Main Police Department in Zaporizhzhia Region, Police Lieutenant Vladyslav Syzonenko and Police Major Yevhenii Samoilenko.
Practical classes conducted by employees of criminal analysis managements of the Main Police Departments in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions for second-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the NPU DSUIA continue.
During the lesson, the cadets learned about the use of artificial intelligence in the analytical work of police officers. Intelligent schemes that are used to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement activities, in particular during forecasting and preventing crime, were considered. The procedure for the work of criminal analysis units with data obtained from various sources (open databases, closed sources and social networks) to create a complete picture of events and establish connections between suspects was discussed.
Together with the specialists, the cadets familiarized themselves with examples of using AI tools in analytical work, including facial recognition, and took part in forecasting the future development of police analytics.
Such events are important because modern crime is becoming more complex, and the volumes of information are constantly growing. The organizers of the meeting believe that the police need tools that allow processing data quickly and accurately. The use of artificial intelligence tools in search and analytical activities makes it possible to significantly speed up the processing of large amounts of data, as well as to automate routine processes.
