The event for scientific and pedagogical (pedagogical) workers who provide teaching of the academic discipline (subject) “Operational and Investigative Activities” in educational institutions with specific conditions of study was held at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.
The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by the Head of the Department of Operational and Investigative Activities, Police Major Valerii Darahan, Professor of the Department Vitalii Teliiichuk, Associate Professor of the Department Volodymyr Varava, Associate Professor of the Department, Police Major Andrii Kyselov and Senior Lecturer Eduard Kopylov.

During the training, the participants considered current issues of the implementation of operational and investigative activities under martial law, modern approaches to documenting criminal offenses, peculiarities of conducting covert investigative (search) actions, as well as the possibilities of using OSINT tools and digital analytics in law enforcement activities.
Separate practical blocks were devoted to the methodology of conducting polygraph research as one of the tools of operational and investigative work, as well as primary skills in operating unmanned aerial vehicles and conducting aerial reconnaissance.
During the seminar-training, a discussion platform “Implementation of operational and investigative activities under martial law” was organized.
Issues of peculiarities of interaction between investigators and operational units during the disclosure of serious and especially serious criminal offenses, war crimes under martial law were discussed, ways of countering drug crime by criminal police units were discussed. Also, the participants discussed issues of the digital trace of drug crime, cryptocurrencies as a tool for illegal drug trafficking, and worked on practical tasks on the topic of the event.

The grounds and procedure for keeping persons in detention rooms, the use of the Custody Records system, the conduct of internal chamber development in the conditions of temporary detention centers, pre-trial detention centers and correctional colonies of the State Criminal Enforcement Service were considered.

Also discussed were the directions and methods of improving the teaching of the academic discipline (subject) “Operational and Investigative Activities” under martial law in higher education institutions with specific conditions of study that belong to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The classes were conducted by practical workers of the National Police of Ukraine units, who shared their own work experience and developments taking into account modern security challenges and realities of wartime.


As a result of the training, scientific and pedagogical workers received the relevant certificates of participation in the seminar-training and the discussion platform.
