In DSUIA a psychological training on interaction with persons with disabilities was held

For first-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the NPU, a psychological training on the topic “Communication and Interaction with Persons with Disabilities” was conducted.

The event within the framework of the National Week of Barrier-Free and the project “Point of Psychological Practices” was conducted by the leading psychologist of the Department of Psychological Support of DSUIA Anna Mhlynets.

During the training, the cadets familiarized themselves with the basic principles of barrier-free communication, the rules of correct interaction with people with various types of disabilities, the peculiarities of providing assistance and the importance of respect for a person’s personal space. Special attention was paid to correct terminology, the development of empathy, tolerance and professional communication in the activities of future law enforcement officers.

Anna Mhlynets emphasized that barrier-free begins first of all with respect for a person, attentiveness to their needs and readiness for open and correct interaction. She also focused on the importance of forming in future law enforcement officers the skills of ethical communication and the ability to act professionally in various life situations.

The head of the Department of Psychological Support of DSUIA Serhii Vyshnevskyi noted that in the conditions of modern social challenges, issues of barrier-free and psychological culture acquire special importance, and law enforcement officers must be ready for effective and humane interaction with all categories of citizens.

The participants also discussed modern challenges of barrier-free in Ukrainian society and the role of law enforcement officers in creating an accessible and safe environment.
