Information sessions for cadets were dedicated to promoting a culture of accessibility, inclusive communication, and respect for human rights.

A thematic event titled “Psychological Aspects of a Barrier-Free Environment in Times of War” was held for first-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine, with the participation of university psychologist Hanna Mhlynets.

Participants discussed the importance of a barrier-free environment in modern conditions, the significance of psychological support for people affected by the war, and the role of empathy, mutual respect, and effective communication in the professional activities of law enforcement officers. Particular attention was paid to psychological resilience, the prevention of discrimination, and adherence to the principles of equality and respect for human dignity.

For second-year cadets, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Firearms Training Dmytro Bodyriev organized a curator’s session entitled “Accessibility as a New Social Norm and Philosophy of Dignity.” During the meeting, participants discussed the culture of barrier-free communication, appropriate terminology, and ethical interaction with veterans and people with limited mobility. Emphasis was also placed on compliance with legislation in the field of social protection for persons with disabilities and on the responsibility of police officers to ensure accessibility and equal treatment for all citizens.

In addition, cadets took part in an informational and educational discussion on ensuring equal access to quality education. Participants examined practical aspects of implementing inclusion principles in the educational environment and discussed architectural, informational, and psychosocial accessibility. Special attention was given to creating conditions in which every learner can realize their potential without obstacles or limitations.

The events contributed to developing future law enforcement officers’ understanding of accessibility principles, respect for human dignity, and the importance of creating an inclusive environment in society.
