DSUIA and the Barrier-Free Driving School Presented at the Recovery Rehabilitation Center

A presentation of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs and the Barrier-Free Driving School operating at the university was held at the Recovery Rehabilitation Center in cooperation with representatives of the Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Yevhenii Khokhlov, Head of the Vehicle Training Department of DSUIA and a military veteran, informed the center’s patients about the university’s activities and the opportunities for obtaining higher education. He also highlighted the possibility of future employment at the university.

Special attention was paid to the activities of the DSUIA Barrier-Free Driving School. Participants received information about driver training categories available for people with disabilities, the special equipment installed in training vehicles, and the procedure for completing the training program.

The attendees also learned about the services provided by MIA service centers and the possibilities for vehicle adaptation and modification.

Patients of the rehabilitation center had the opportunity to communicate with a driving instructor and examine a specially adapted vehicle used for practical driving lessons.

Such events contribute to the social adaptation of war veterans and persons with disabilities, expand opportunities for professional development and independent mobility, and demonstrate the practical implementation of barrier-free principles within the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
