Optional Classes for DSUIA Cadets with Representatives of Prosecutor’s Offices

The Department of Criminal Procedure organized a training session on working with the NPU Information Portal and the specifics of applying criminal procedural legislation under martial law.

Employees of prosecutor’s offices were invited by Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Police Major Viktoriia Rohalska, to participate in the regular optional classes for cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Larisa Kerimova-Bandiukova, Head of the Department for the Organization of Support for Victims and Witnesses of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, introduced future investigators to the activities of the Victim and Witness Support Department, its main areas of work, and the mechanisms of cooperation with NPU investigators during the investigation of war crimes.

Yuliia Serohinova, a prosecutor of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, also joined the session online. Under her guidance, DSUIA cadets practiced interviewing juvenile witnesses and victims at the “Child-Friendly Crisis Room” training facility using the “Procedural Interview,” “Green Room,” and “Barnahus” methodologies.

In addition, under the supervision of lecturers and invited speakers, the cadets learned how to work with the Information Portal and prepare the relevant procedural documents.
