Participation in the event was taken by students of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The meeting was organized by the Department of Psychological Support of DSUIA. The purpose of the event was to increase professional competence and master the skills of providing first psychological aid.
The lesson began with a theoretical block, where the participants familiarized themselves with the key tasks and principles of crisis intervention, as well as typical mistakes and nuances of psychological aid in the conditions of martial law. Using real cases as examples, the students examined in detail modern algorithms of first psychological aid: from establishing contact and ensuring basic needs to stabilizing the emotional state, providing informational support and referring victims to specialized services.
The moderator of the lesson Vladyslav Bidniak emphasized that the theoretical part was developed as concisely and practically as possible, based on the real experience of DSUIA psychologists.
To consolidate knowledge, training video materials were used, and the focus was on exercises for stabilizing the psycho-emotional state in various affective situations.
The students practiced techniques of progressive muscle relaxation, breathing, grounding, emotional support and cognitive activation.
The participants showed personal interest, asked clarifying questions and discussed practical aspects of applying the acquired knowledge in their own professional activities. They emphasized the importance of the work done in the context of modern living and service conditions, noting its practical value.
The conducted lesson became significant for the professional training of the students. It helped to form practical competencies necessary for working in conditions of stress and uncertainty, strengthen psychological resilience and increase the readiness of future police officers to act effectively in crisis situations.
