“Guardians of Our Nation’s Security”: DSUIA Institute of Law and Innovative Education Marks the Day of the National Police of Ukraine

The online lecture was delivered by Iryna Demchyshyn, Deputy Director of the Institute.

The event was opened by Volodymyr Shablystyi, Director of the Institute of Law and Innovative Education of DSUIA. He congratulated students, academic staff, and guests on the occasion, emphasizing the vital mission of law enforcement officers in today’s realities.

The guest speaker was Andrii Kovalenko, Doctor of Law, Assistant to the Head of the Department of the Special Purpose Police of the Separate Assault Brigade “Liut” of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Colonel. He shared his personal experience of serving in law enforcement agencies and spoke to the students about the specifics and challenges of police work during the full-scale war.

Students learned about the courage, resilience, and complexities of carrying out police duties both on the front line and in the rear, and also became acquainted with the structure and specific functions of the National Police of Ukraine.

As a gesture of respect for police officers, students of the Institute prepared a creative performance and recited poems by contemporary authors. According to the organizers, the performance became a symbolic tribute expressing gratitude to police officers.

Such events serve as a reminder of the high price of peace and inspire future legal professionals to pursue their studies diligently, develop their professional competencies, and prepare responsibly for their future careers.
