The competitions united participants from different corners of Ukraine, creating a space for sports development, experience exchange and support for veterans through adaptive sports.

The event was held by the NGO “Povernys Zhivym!” together with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented at the competitions by veterans Serhii Shtym and Oleh Sakhnov. They joined the teams “GART Stal” and “GART Shtorm”, where they provided strong competition to their opponents thanks to endurance, perseverance, and effective team interaction.

Wheelchair rugby is one of the directions of adaptive sports, which contributes to physical rehabilitation, development of strength, reaction speed and coordination of movements. No less important is its social component: team play helps veterans restore interaction skills, find like-minded people, strengthen confidence in their own strengths and more easily adapt to active life after injuries or wounds received.

Participation of DSUIA veterans in the all-Ukrainian competitions “GART” is another step in the development of adaptive sports at the university and support for the veteran community. Regular training and participation in sports events of this level help participants restore physical form, strengthen psychological resilience, expand the circle of communication and return to active public life.
