In the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, training sessions in adaptive basketball for military veterans continue. The classes are organized by the Department of Special Physical Training with the support of the university management.
During the training sessions, the participants of the first adaptive basketball team in the MIA system of Ukraine “Veterans Basket” veterans practice game technique, team interaction, technique of moving around the playing field and accuracy of passes. Special attention is paid to adapting exercises to the individual physical capabilities of each participant.
Adaptive basketball is an effective means of rehabilitation for military veterans, which helps to restore motor functions, strengthen muscles, improve balance and general physical form. Regular classes contribute to mitigating the consequences of injuries, developing endurance and coordination.
Playing in a team forms a sense of unity, mutual assistance and support, helps to fight the manifestations of post-traumatic stress disorder and restores confidence in one’s own strengths.

Such measures contribute to the comprehensive physical and psychological recovery of military veterans, strengthen social adaptation, contribute to the return of confidence in one’s own strengths and full inclusion in public life.
