Pickleball as a recovery tool: training for military veterans continues at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

In the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, regular adaptive pickleball training sessions for military veterans continue. The classes are organized by the Department of Special Physical Training with the support of the university management.

Pickleball is a relatively new, but already popular type of sport. The game combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, and is distinguished by dynamism and accessibility.

For military veterans, adaptive pickleball is especially useful. It does not create excessive load on joints and the spine, but at the same time effectively develops physical qualities.

In addition, the game has a positive effect on the psycho-emotional state: it reduces the level of anxiety, helps overcome the consequences of post-traumatic stress disorder, restores self-confidence.

An important advantage of pickleball is its social component. Playing in pairs or teams promotes communication, mutual support and the formation of a strong veteran community, which is a key element of successful reintegration into ordinary peaceful life.

Such training sessions at DSUIA are held weekly.
