The coach of the first team in adaptive basketball in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Veterans’ Basket” Kseniia Afanasieva took part in the All-Ukrainian training for coaches and assistant coaches in basketball and rugby on wheelchairs.
The event, organized by the public organization “Come Back Alive”, took place on July 20-23, 2026 in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk.
Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs at the event was represented by the leading specialist of the sports team of the department of social and humanitarian work, coach of the team “Veterans’ Basket” Kseniia Afanasieva.
During the training, the participants worked out modern methods of conducting trainings in basketball and rugby on wheelchairs, familiarized themselves with the practical aspects of the development of adaptive sports, exchanged experience with specialists from different regions of Ukraine and improved their professional competencies in the field of inclusive physical culture and sports.
The participation of the representative of DSUIA in the event will contribute to the introduction of modern approaches to the organization of sports work, the development of adaptive sports at the university and the support of veterans and persons who were injured as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation.
