The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) has been included in the list of institutions authorized to provide training for Veteran and Demobilized Persons Support Specialists. The list was approved by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

DSUIA has become one of only two higher education institutions within the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine included in the current list. This recognition confirms the University’s capacity to provide high-quality training for specialists who will work with war veterans, demobilized service members, and their family members.
The training program will focus on developing the competencies required for comprehensive veteran support, including identifying individual needs, providing information and advisory assistance, facilitating access to social, legal, medical, psychological, educational, and other services, and supporting veterans in their transition to civilian life.
A Veteran Support Specialist serves as a vital link between veterans and the national and local support systems. Their role extends beyond providing information to accompanying individuals throughout the process of resolving practical life issues, recovery, professional reintegration, and community integration. The Government of Ukraine continues to develop the national system for training such specialists while expanding opportunities for individuals with diverse educational backgrounds and professional experience to enter this field.
DSUIA’s inclusion in the list is the result of the University’s systematic work in the field of veteran policy. The University implements programs focused on physical and psychological rehabilitation, adaptive sports, career guidance, education, and employment for veterans, while also strengthening cooperation with government institutions, local communities, and civil society organizations.
This new area of activity will further strengthen DSUIA’s role in developing a professional veteran support system and will enable the University to expand its proven experience to both the regional and national levels.
