A presentation of the educational opportunities offered by the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) for military veterans was held at the Superhumans Dnipro Center. Participants learned about the University’s opportunities for higher education, professional development, retraining, and social reintegration currently available to the Defenders of Ukraine.
Particular attention was given to the activities of the DSUIA Barrier-Free Driving School. The Director of the Driving School, Yevhenii Khokhlov, introduced veterans to the features of driver training for persons with disabilities, explained the available training categories, admission requirements, and the technical capabilities of specially adapted vehicles.
The practical part of the event included a demonstration of a vehicle equipped with a hand-control driving system. Participants had the opportunity to examine its design, experience how the controls operate, and receive answers to their questions about the training process.
Such vehicles enable people who, due to injuries or other consequences of the war, have lost the ability to drive in the conventional way to get behind the wheel again. Hand-control systems provide new opportunities for independent mobility, returning to an active lifestyle, employment, and social integration. For many veterans, this is not only a matter of mobility but also of regaining independence and confidence in their own abilities.
Cooperation between DSUIA and the Superhumans Dnipro Center expands opportunities for veterans by helping them acquire essential knowledge, develop new professional skills, and gain access to modern services that support their successful return to active community life.
