DSUIA Representatives Took Part in an Open Pickleball Training Session

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

An open pickleball training session was held at the Meteor Sports Complex on the initiative of the Ukrainian Pickleball Federation. The event was led by Viktoriia Kovtun, a Federation representative, coach, and referee.

Representing Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) at the event were veterans Oleksandr Hryshchuk and Yevhen Zhovner, as well as senior lecturers from the Department of Special Physical Training.

The training session was organized with the support of the NGO “DNIPRO HONOR,” headed by Oleksandr Pivtoratskyi, and with the assistance of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia Region, represented by Viacheslav Loshchenko, Assistant to the Head of the Directorate.

During the master class, participants learned about the rules of the game, its fundamental techniques, and the key features of pickleball—a modern sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. The practical session gave participants the opportunity to try the game on the court and practice basic skills under the guidance of an experienced coach.

Participation in events of this kind contributes to the promotion of adaptive sports, expands opportunities for the physical rehabilitation of veterans, and strengthens cooperation between the university, civil society organizations, and sports federations. The introduction of new sports disciplines creates additional opportunities to support the physical well-being, social reintegration, and active lifestyles of Ukraine’s Defenders.
