DSUIA Representative Took Part in the First Departmental Scientific and Practical Forum of Polygraph Examiners of the National Police of Ukraine

The First Departmental Scientific and Practical Forum of Polygraph Examiners of the National Police of Ukraine was held at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, with the participation of Inna Yashchuk, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as law enforcement officers and researchers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.

The participants discussed the current state and prospects for the development of polygraph examination activities within the National Police of Ukraine, current methodologies, professional standards, specialist training, and other relevant issues.

“A strong law enforcement system begins with professional, honest, and responsible people. That is why combining scientific knowledge, modern technologies, and practical experience is essential for developing the human resources potential of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system,” Inna Yashchuk noted.

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented at the forum by polygraph examiner and Head of the Information and Technical Support Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Shcherbyna.

The forum also featured an interagency round table entitled “Strategic Directions for the Use of Polygraphs in Security and Defence Forces: Current Challenges and Prospects.”

Following the forum, the participants developed recommendations aimed at improving the regulatory and methodological framework, professional training of polygraph examiners, interagency cooperation, and the introduction of unified professional standards.
