All-Ukrainian table tennis competitions brought together active-duty military personnel, veterans and former service members – Defenders of Ukraine who sustained injuries, trauma or illnesses while performing their duties.
Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented at the competition by military veteran and instructor at the Department of Special Physical Training Andrii Shevchenko. In the individual event, he took second place, demonstrating confident play, endurance and the ability to remain focused during intense matches. He also won a silver medal in the doubles event, highlighting the effectiveness of teamwork and his ability to adapt to the dynamics of the game.
Events like these are of great importance to the veteran community. They contribute to physical and psychological recovery, expand social connections, foster team spirit and create new opportunities for personal development and self-realization. At the same time, veterans’ sporting achievements serve as a powerful example of resilience, determination and unwavering spirit.
