Memory and creativity: at DSUIA held a master class “Sunflower”

NEWS

At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a master class on making sunflower flowers was held. First-year cadets took part in the event.

The event was organized by the head of the department of social and humanitarian work of DSUIA, police lieutenant colonel Nataliia Karnaukh. The master class within the framework of the All-Ukrainian memorial action “Sunflower” was dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Nataliia Karnaukh told the participants of the master class about different interpretations of the sunflower, in particular about the fact that this flower is a symbol of national tragedies, life force and loyalty. The first-year cadets learned that after 2014, the sunflower acquired a new meaning for every Ukrainian. It is a memory of the fallen heroes, a symbol of revival and an international sign of solidarity with Ukraine, which it became after the full-scale invasion of the russian federation.

During the event, the participants personally made symbolic sunflowers, joining the all-Ukrainian memorial action and paying tribute to the fallen Heroes.

These sunflowers will be worn on clothing by cadets, students and teachers of DSUIA on the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as a symbol of sorrow, honor and memory of the fallen warriors.

Every year on August 29, Ukraine honors the memory of the Defenders who gave their lives for the independence and freedom of our country. This date is associated with the Ilovaisk tragedy of 2014, when Ukrainian servicemen died.

Such measures contribute to the preservation of national memory, the formation of a respectful attitude to the feat of the Defenders of Ukraine and the awareness of the price of freedom and independence of our state.
