On the basis of the psychological training center of DSUIA, by the sector of psychological support of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Luhansk region, a training was organized and conducted within the framework of the project “Blue Sky for Ukraine”.
The head of the sector of psychological support of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Luhansk region, police captain Anastasia Slukhaienko noted that the event was organized for police officers of the Main Directorate of the National Police with the aim of forming an effective system of ensuring mental health and psychosocial support in police collectives. Such work acquires special significance in modern conditions, when police officers daily perform official tasks under conditions of increased psychological load, stress and a high level of responsibility.
For the conduct of the training, the senior psychologist of the department of psychological support of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Donetsk region, senior police lieutenant Bohdan Vasiutin was involved, who underwent the relevant training and is a certified trainer of the project.
The head of the department of psychological support of DSUIA Serhii Vyshnevskyi addressed the participants. He greeted those present and spoke about the main areas of activity of the university’s psychologists in modern conditions. Separately, the importance of psychological support of the personnel, timely detection of signs of emotional exhaustion and formation of skills of psychological self-help was emphasized.
During the training, the participants received new theoretical knowledge and practiced practical skills aimed at maintaining mental health, overcoming the consequences of stressful situations, developing emotional stability and effective interaction in the collective. One of the important tasks of the event was the expansion of the circle of persons capable of providing collegial and comradely support to their colleagues.
Special attention was paid to the creation of a favorable psychological environment in police units, in which each employee can promptly receive the necessary support and professional assistance.
The conduct of such trainings contributes to the increase of psychological competence of police officers, strengthening team interaction and development of a culture of care for mental health in police collectives.
The project “Blue Sky for Ukraine” is an important platform for the exchange of experience, development of professional competences and implementation of modern approaches to psychological support of law enforcement officers. The joint work of psychologists of institutions of higher education and units of the National Police of Ukraine is aimed at the formation of a sustainable, professional and psychologically safe environment for those who daily stand on the defense of the state and citizens.
