Representatives of the city and regional authorities, representatives of the security sector, clergy and the public took part in the events.
After the performance of the State Anthem of Ukraine, those present honored the memory of the fallen defenders with a moment of silence.
The person temporarily performing the duties of the rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalina took part in the laying.

Also, the honoring of the memory of the fallen defenders took place during the National moment of silence: at one of the crossroads of the city, all those present remembered the fallen soldiers.

In addition, memorial events also took place near the Monument to the fallen defenders of law and order. DSUIA was represented by the person temporarily performing the duties of the rector Ihor Mahdalina, vice-rector, police colonel Ihor Kovalov, cadets and officers of the university, as well as listeners of the CSIPT “Academy of Police”.

Those present laid flowers at the foot of the Monument in honor of the commemoration of the law enforcement officers who died defending Ukraine.

Every year on August 29, Ukraine commemorates the Day of Remembrance of the defenders of Ukraine. This day was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of August 23, 2019 No. 621 to perpetuate the heroism of servicemen and volunteers who gave their lives for the homeland, as a reminder of one of the bloodiest events of the war in eastern Ukraine – the Ilovaisk tragedy.
