At the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a meeting of cadets and students with the Deputy Medical Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after Mechnikov Iryna Kytova took place.
The event was opened by the temporarily performing the duties of the Rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalyna. Vice-Rector of the university, Police Colonel Ihor Kovaliov also took part in the meeting.
During the communication, Iryna Kytova told about the work of the hospital named after Mechnikov, the activity of the surgical team and the features of providing medical assistance to wounded defenders of Ukraine.
The representative of the medical institution told that during the full-scale invasion of the rf, doctors saved 60 thousand wounded servicemen, every day up to 100 operations of various levels of complexity are performed in the hospital. Thanks to the professionalism of the medical staff, it is possible to save 95 percent of the severely wounded.

Separate attention during the meeting was paid to blood donation. Iryna Kytova noted that since 2022, 20 donor actions have been held at the hospital named after Mechnikov, and the total volume of transfused blood amounted to 25 tons.

In addition, cadets and students of DSUIA were invited to take part in the nearest Donor Day, which will take place in September 2026, and were given recommendations regarding preparation for the donation procedure.
Also, the material and technical base of the university was presented to Iryna Kytova.

Similar meetings contribute to the formation in youth of a responsible attitude to their own health, the development of a culture of donation and the awareness of the personal contribution of each to the support of the defenders of Ukraine.
