At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a meeting took place of representatives of the sector of social protection and support of affected persons and members of their families of the State Institution “Eastern Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine” with military veterans.
The institution was represented by the head of the sector Olena Zernova and the senior inspector Oksana Prokudina.
The event was opened by the head of the department of social and humanitarian work of DSUIA, police lieutenant colonel Nataliia Karnaukh. The vice-rector of the university, police colonel Ihor Kovalov, also took part in the meeting.
Olena Zernova spoke about the activity of the sector and the services it provides. In particular, the specialists of the sector provide informational support regarding the realization of due benefits and guarantees (medical and material provision, psychological assistance, health improvement, rehabilitation, prosthetics, education, improvement of housing conditions, receipt of social services and other guarantees).
In addition, the employees of the sector help in the processing of documents for the appointment of payments provided for by legislation, passing the military-medical commission, establishing the status of a participant in combat operations, restoring lost documents, obtaining certificates about the circumstances of injury, referrals for additional treatment or rehabilitation, psychological assistance, as well as in matters of employment.
Special attention was paid to the electronic cabinet “Social Protection of Employees of the System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, the peculiarities of its use and other electronic services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Such meetings contribute to increasing the awareness of veterans regarding the opportunities of social protection, the realization of the guarantees due to them and further adaptation to civilian life.
