The event was organized by Olena Zernova, Head of the Social Protection and Support Sector for Affected Persons and Their Family Members of the State Institution “Eastern Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine,” and Olha Kunchenko, Head of the Personnel Support and Military Registration Department of the same institution.
Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by Oleksandr Hryshchuk, Rector’s Assistant for Veteran Affairs.
The event was attended by representatives of units responsible for working with military veterans of the Main Directorates of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk and Luhansk regions, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region, administrative service centers, as well as representatives of humanitarian organizations.
During the meeting, the participants discussed employment opportunities for military veterans, support during their job search and employment, as well as opportunities for veterans and their families to participate in grant programs.
Participants learned about the work of the Social Protection and Support Sector for Affected Persons and Their Family Members of the State Institution “Eastern Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine” and the services it provides.
Particular attention was paid to the conditions for accessing the benefits and guarantees provided by law, including medical and financial support, psychological assistance, health improvement, rehabilitation, prosthetics, education, improvement of housing conditions, and social services.
In addition, sector employees assist with preparing documents for legally prescribed payments, undergoing military medical commission examinations, obtaining combatant status, restoring lost documents, obtaining certificates regarding the circumstances of injuries, receiving referrals for additional treatment or rehabilitation and psychological assistance, as well as addressing employment-related issues.
Such events help raise awareness of veterans’ social protection opportunities, establish effective interagency cooperation, and improve the quality of support provided to Ukraine’s Defenders as they return to civilian life.
