“Did Exupéry know?”: a theatrical performance took place at DSUIA

NEWS

Students and cadets of the university, listeners of the “Academy of Police” and pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs watched a chamber plastic-dramatic performance of the independent youth theater “One on One” (Dnipro).

The event was organized by the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

The production “Did Exupéry know?” reinterprets the famous philosophical tale “The Little Prince” through the prism of modernity, war and growing up. Its plot is constructed as an imaginary dialogue with the French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and raises the questions of what challenges, losses and internal crises the modern generation faces.

In the performance, the classical story is transferred to the realities of today — under the conditions of a full-scale war. The main character is the pilot “Ghost of Kyiv”, through whose image the experiences of a person are revealed. Such an interpretation gives the famous story a new sound, raising the issues of courage, losses, internal resilience and the ability to preserve humanity even in the darkest times.

Combining dramatic monologues with modern choreography, the actors conveyed complex emotional states of a person: loneliness, the search for one’s own path, the experience of changes and the desire to preserve hope. Symbolic stage images complemented the reflections on childhood dreams, hidden fears and values that help to overcome life’s trials.

The performance prompts reflection on the importance of humanity, responsibility for one’s own choice and the ability to remain true to oneself even in difficult circumstances.

Such cultural-artistic events contribute to the spiritual development of youth, the formation of emotional sensitivity, the comprehension of current social challenges and the support of interest in modern Ukrainian theatrical art.
