NEWS

First- and second-year students majoring in D8 “Law” visited the Dnipro Civil Status Registration Office in Dniprovskyi District of Dnipropetrovsk Region, which operates under the Dnipro Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

The visit was organized by the Department of Administrative and Legal Disciplines and Public Administration and the Department of Theory of State and Law of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education at the university.

The Head of the Office, Yana Shapiro, introduced the students to the institution’s main areas of activity and the specific features of providing relevant administrative services. In particular, the students learned about the procedures for the state registration of birth and parentage, marriage and divorce, change of name and death. Particular attention was paid to the procedures for amending, restoring and annulling civil status records.

The participants also discussed the digitalization of the work of civil status registration authorities, including the development of electronic services, the use of electronic document management, and improved interaction with citizens when they receive administrative services.

Yana Shapiro emphasized that the activities of civil status registration authorities are of significant social and legal importance, as they provide documentary confirmation of legal facts that serve as the basis for the establishment, modification or termination of citizens’ personal non-property and property rights and obligations.

The knowledge gained during the visit complements the students’ theoretical training with real-life examples of law enforcement and legal practice. This practical learning format enables future legal professionals not only to better understand and navigate legislation but also to gain a deeper understanding of how citizens’ rights are implemented in practice by public authorities.
