The event on the basis of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was organized within the framework of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental Health for Ukraine” (MH4U), which supports the implementation of the reform of the mental health care sphere in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The training was opened and certificates to the participants based on the results of the training were presented by the assistant to the rector of DSUIA on gender issues, doctor of legal sciences, professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa Nalyvaiko.
Employees of the Communal Extracurricular Educational Institution “Minor Academy of Sciences of Student Youth” of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council took part in the two-day training. The program of the training was aimed at increasing awareness of issues of mental well-being, developing a culture of care for mental health and forming practical skills of supporting oneself and others under conditions of martial law.
The trainers of the event were the head of the department of psychological support of DSUIA, brainspotter, clinical psychologist, full member of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine and the Association of Psychologists of Higher School of Ukraine Serhii Vyshnevskyi and art therapist, clinical psychologist, biosuggestive therapist, coach, author of trainings with exercises of CBT, hypnotherapy, art coaching and methods of See Far CBT Hanna Mhlynets.
The training program was based on evidence-based practices and international standards of NICE, mhGAP of the WHO and Mental Health First Aid. Over the course of two days, the participants mastered a practical 5-step model of communication, support and safe referral of persons to specialized specialists.
Special attention was paid to algorithms for identifying signs of the most common mental health disorders, in particular PTSD, depression, panic disorders and substance abuse. Also, the participants practiced exercises for psycho-emotional stabilization, self-help and counteraction to professional burnout.
The director of the Communal Extracurricular Educational Institution “Minor Academy of Sciences of Student Youth” of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Nataliia Tiahlo spoke with words of gratitude for conducting the event and fruitful long-term cooperation.

Based on the results of completing the training, each participant received an official certificate and a work album with the application of support algorithms.
