In Dnipro, under the chairmanship of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko, a meeting of Coalitions 1325 of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions took place

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by the assistant to the rector on gender issues, doctor of legal sciences, professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa Nalyvaiko.

The event took place with the participation of representatives of state authorities, international organizations, civil society institutions and the expert environment.

Among the participants – co-founder and director for strategic development of the Ukrainian Women’s Fund Nataliia Karbovska; program analyst on issues of access to justice regarding gender-based violence / conflict-related sexual violence, UN Women in Ukraine Iryna Mykhailovska; consultant of the Apparatus of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Anatolii Dosych; consultant of the Apparatus of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Anhelina Oliinychenko; National expert on conflict-related sexual violence in the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Karyna Lytvyniuk; deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Iryna Hrytsai; project specialist in criminal law (UNDP) Viktoriia Mozghova and others.

The moderator of the event was Olha Shulik, who represented the secretariat of the coalition “Dnipropetrovshchyna 1325”.

The main topic of the meeting was the localization of Strategic Goal 4 of the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security” for the period until 2030. It concerns ensuring interaction between subjects whose activity is aimed at preventing, detecting and responding to sexual violence related to the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, as well as overcoming its consequences and the consequences of other war crimes.

The Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko in the key speech of the meeting presented the main tasks of the state and civil society in the sphere of counteracting conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), and also focused attention on the synergy of the National Action Plan 1325 and the Implementation Plan.

Larysa Nalyvaiko reported on the role of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs in the activity of Coalition 1325 and the implementation of the policy of counteracting conflict-related sexual violence.

Separately, the issue of localization of Strategic Goal 4 in the regional action plans of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions and the role of civil society in its implementation were considered.

Significant attention was paid to the formation of a policy of zero tolerance to CRSV in the security and defense sector of Ukraine.

The event became a platform for the exchange of experience and the coordination of further steps regarding the strengthening of interdepartmental interaction, counteraction to CRSV and the implementation of the principles of “Women, Peace, Security” at the regional level.
