Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs held a joint training session for patrol police officers from Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions who are undergoing advanced training at the DSUIA Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning.

The session was organised by the Departments of Administrative Law and Procedure and Tactical and Special Training of the Educational and Research Institute of Law Enforcement Activities of the National Police of Ukraine. It formed part of the course “Algorithms for Patrol Police Officers in Various Service Situations (Scenarios).”
Denys Shulha, Police Captain and Head of the Educational Security Service Department of the Patrol Police Directorate in Dnipropetrovsk Region, took part in the session.

The main focus was on the duties and powers of the Educational Security Service of the National Police of Ukraine, its operations under martial law, and mechanisms for cooperation with patrol police units.
The speaker outlined the main areas of work carried out by Educational Security Service officers, including ensuring a safe learning environment, preventing offences and bullying, resolving conflicts, and teaching pupils safe behaviour.
The participants also discussed how to establish effective communication between the police, teachers, pupils, and their parents. Emphasis was placed on preventive work, psychological support, and building trust in law enforcement agencies as essential components of a comprehensive approach to safety in educational institutions.

The practical part included discussions of workplace scenarios, an exchange of professional experience, and an analysis of response procedures for potential threats in educational settings. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions about the specific duties of Educational Security Service inspectors and cooperation between police units.

Joint training sessions help strengthen patrol police officers’ professional competencies, deepen their practical knowledge, and improve their ability to carry out official duties amid today’s security challenges.
