On October 31, on the basis of the sports complex “Olympic Reserves”, the Cup of Dnipropetrovsk region in judo among men and women was held. Bronze at the competitions was won by a cadet of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Kostiantyn Shevchenko.
More than 90 athletes from Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Ternopil and Chernihiv regions, as well as the city of Kyiv took part in the tournament. Boys and girls competed in 7 weight categories.
DSUIA at the event was represented by two athletes: Kostiantyn Shevchenko (SR-K9-25-1) and Illia Shynkovskyi (Bd-K9-26-7). Kostiantyn performed in the weight category up to 100 kg.
The athlete showed not just a high level of mastery of techniques, but also steel endurance, technicality and perseverance, confidently realizing his capabilities on the tatami. According to the results of the bouts, he took third place and became a bronze prize winner of the tournament.
Illia Shynkovskyi competed in the weight category up to 73 kg, where he distinguished himself with good speed, coordination and the ability to fight in conditions of an intensive bout. The tournament became an occasion for the athletes to test their own strength, gain new competitive experience and improve their mastery.
We congratulate Kostiantyn on the prize result! Participation in such competitions is an important component of sports training at DSUIA, since it contributes to the development of endurance, discipline, willpower and perseverance – qualities that are necessary for future law enforcement officers in professional activity.
