Adaptive Sports for Military Veterans at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs continues to host personalized adaptive training sessions for military veterans, organized by the Department of Specialized Physical Training.

The sessions take place in the university’s sports hall, where individualized programs are developed for each participant, considering their physical condition and personal characteristics. Emphasis is placed on the safe execution of exercises, including mandatory warm-ups and workouts using fitness machines and sports equipment.

Specialists from the Department of Specialized Physical Training at DSUIA closely monitor all activities, ensuring exercises are performed correctly and safely.

As part of a comprehensive social adaptation initiative offered by DSUIA for military veterans, these sports sessions have been conducted for almost a year. Weekly activities include table tennis, mixed martial arts, and sitting volleyball.

The primary goal of these sessions is to provide beneficial physical activity, promote health improvement, and encourage the socialization of veterans within a community of like-minded individuals and skilled instructors. All activities are supervised by the university’s experts.

These events are part of the “Friendly Support” project by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department of Education, Science, and Sports.
