The leadership of the educational institution, veterans and staff who took part in the consequences of the accident, as well as cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs honored the memory near the “Chornobyl Bell” monument.
Acting Rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalina addressed those present with an opening speech. He emphasized that the Chornobyl disaster became one of the largest man-made catastrophes in human history, forever changing the lives of millions of people and leaving a deep mark on national memory. The head of the institution thanked the liquidators for their courage, self-sacrifice, and dedication to duty, wishing them good health, well-being, and longevity.

Sixteen DSUIA liquidators were awarded commemorative medals “40 Years of Heroic Feat,” and the head of the veterans’ organization, Leonid Kamyshov, was awarded a certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs by Minister Ihor Klymenko.



Those present honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and solemnly laid flowers at the monument. The event demonstrated deep respect for the feat of the liquidators and the importance of preserving historical truth for future generations.
