New opportunities and prospects: DSUIA and the Barrier-Free Driving School presented to the patients of the Superhumans Center

The event was held jointly with representatives of the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the MIA of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The Head of the Vehicle Training Department of DSUIA, military veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov told the patients of the center about the activities of the university. He presented in detail to those present the list of institutes, faculties and specialties of the university, and also outlined the algorithm for admission to the higher education institution.

A separate substantial block was the presentation of the activities of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA as a tool for the practical implementation of the state policy of barrier-free accessibility. Yevhenii Khokhlov outlined the specifics of training drivers with disabilities, in particular the list of available categories, the technical characteristics of specially adapted vehicles, as well as the algorithm for completing training taking into account the individual needs of the listeners.

The patients of the Superhumans Center had the opportunity to communicate with a driver-instructor and inspect a specially adapted car that is used for practical classes, and also tried their hand at driving a vehicle.

The participants of the meeting also received qualified explanations regarding the procedure for obtaining administrative services in the MIA service centers, including the procedures for re-equipping vehicles for persons with disabilities.

The holding of such events contributes to the social reintegration of war veterans and persons with disabilities, expands their opportunities for professional development and independent movement, and also confirms the consistent implementation of the principles of barrier-free accessibility in the MIA of Ukraine system.
