A Category “B” document was presented to the new graduate by the Head of the Automotive Training Department of DSUIA, military veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov.
Yelyzaveta is a Master of Sports of International Class in judo. Despite a hearing impairment, the girl set herself a new goal — to master car driving. She completed the theoretical training independently, and practised practical skills with the instructors of the DSUIA Barrier-Free Driving School.
“The instructors were very attentive and patient. It was especially difficult to practise driving through intersections, but thanks to their experience and professional guidance I gained confidence behind the wheel,” shared Yelyzaveta.
The DSUIA Barrier-Free Driving School is an important social project that creates real conditions for persons with disabilities to obtain driver’s licences. It provides an individual approach, specially equipped vehicles and a comfortable learning environment.
Such work is of great importance for the development of a barrier-free environment in Ukraine. It helps people with disabilities to gain independence, expand opportunities for employment, self-realisation and active participation in public life.
The DSUIA Barrier-Free Driving School continues to create new prospects for those who strive for independence and new achievements.
