The event within the framework of the patriotic creativity club’s activities was conducted by the Head of the Social and Humanitarian Work Department of DSUIA, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nataliia Karnaukh.
Nataliia Karnaukh told the cadets about the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939–1945.
The participants learned that more than ten years ago Ukraine joined the European tradition of marking this date — not to celebrate, but to commemorate. It is in this way that society formed its perception of 8 May in a human dimension: with an emphasis on the fates of those who fought against Nazism.
During the Second World War, Ukrainians made a significant contribution to the victory over Nazism — in the ranks of the armies of the Anti-Hitler Coalition, as well as in underground and insurgent movements. After Nazism and Communism, the world faced a new criminal ideology — rashism. Today, Ukrainians with weapons in hand are defending not only themselves, but all of Europe from Russian expansion.
The participants of the event not only mastered the technique of creating a red poppy flower — a symbol traditionally pinned to clothing on 8 May — but also discussed the history of its origin. This image combines the pain of loss and the hope for a peaceful future.

The event became simultaneously an emotional and educational space that helped future law enforcement officers to reflect more deeply on the events of the past, to feel the connection between historical memory and the present day, and to join in the preservation of national identity.
