Following the defense of конкурсні works at the final scientific and practical conference held at the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine in the city of Cherkasy, the winners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs competition were awarded.
The scientific event brought together talented young people from higher education institutions belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as higher military educational institutions of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
A member of the competition commission from the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was Vice-Rector, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Police Colonel Oleksandr Yunin.
According to the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the competition of scientific works for applicants of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education at institutions belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was held from October 2025 to May 2026.
At the first stage of the competition, the university submitted 26 scientific papers, 16 of which were selected for participation in the second stage. Based on the evaluation results, the organizing committee recognized 9 works as contenders for prize-winning places.

On May 11–12, 2026, the final scientific and practical conference was held at the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine in Cherkasy. A total of 72 higher education students from 11 higher education institutions with specific learning conditions were invited to defend their scientific works and confirm their right to receive the places determined by the competition commission.


Cadets and students of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs demonstrated strong knowledge of their research subjects and confirmed their status as prize winners by successfully defending their конкурсні works and достойно representing DSUIA among other higher education institutions.
Nine representatives of DSUIA — seven students and two graduates — won prize places:
1st place:
● Maksym Khadzhyiskyi (nomination: “Civil Law and Civil Procedure; Family Law; International Private Law”; academic supervisor – Kristyna Rezvorovych, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor);
● Hanna Terekhova (nomination: “Criminal Law and Criminology; Penal Law”; academic supervisor – Vasyl Berezniak, Doctor of Law, Senior Research Fellow);
2nd place:
● Mariia Sydorenko (nomination: “Theory and History of State and Law, History of Political and Legal Doctrines, Philosophy of Law”; academic supervisor – Olha Chepik-Trehubenko, PhD in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory of State and Law);
● Nazar Huba (nomination: “Constitutional Law; International Public Law”; academic supervisor – Valentyna Boniak, Doctor of Law, Professor);
● Yuliia Tolmachova (nomination: “Criminal Procedure, Criminalistics and Forensic Examination”; academic supervisor – Hanna Bidniak, PhD in Law, Associate Professor);
● Rostyslav Khomenko (nomination: “Operational and Search Activities”; academic supervisor – Vitalii Teliichuk, PhD in Law, Associate Professor);
3rd place:
● Oleksandra Koverzai (nomination: “Commercial Law; Commercial Procedural Law”; academic supervisor – Vladyslav Saksonov, PhD in Law, Associate Professor);
● Kira Zakhozha (nomination: “Fundamentals of National Security; Military Security; State Border Security”; academic supervisor – Olha Chepik-Trehubenko, PhD in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory of State and Law);
● Yaroslav Lysiuk (nomination: “Tactical-Special and Service-Combat Training”; academic supervisor – Dmytro Kaznacheiev, PhD in Law, Associate Professor).
Head of the organizing committee and Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksandr Tarasenko highlighted the relevance and practical significance of the presented scientific works. He emphasized the high level of research skills, creative thinking, and deep understanding of current challenges demonstrated by higher education students. The Head of the Department noted that young researchers showed a professional approach to issues of public safety, emergency response, law enforcement, and the development of modern technologies in the security and defense sector under conditions of armed aggression.
According to the results of the competition, all DSUIA participants received certificates, while winners and prize holders in the nominations were awarded diplomas.
