The event was held under the chairmanship of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Inna Yashchuk. The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by Acting Rector Ihor Mahdalina, as well as academic staff members and officers of the higher education institution.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Scientific Council: Oleksandr Tarasenko, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yehor Nazymko, Deputy Director of the Department and Head of the Science and Innovation Division, heads of higher education institutions belonging to the sphere of management of the MIA system bodies, and heads of профильных structural units of the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and the National Guard of Ukraine.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk outlined the defining role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the formation and implementation of the state scientific and scientific-technical policy in the field of protecting social relations connected with ensuring human rights and freedoms, public safety and order, crime prevention, civil protection, as well as state border protection.
On the occasion of Science Day, the best researchers of the MIA system were awarded honorary distinctions from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
For exemplary performance of official duties, personal initiative and dedication, and high professionalism, certificates of honor from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine were awarded to the Head of the Department of Tactical and Special Training of DSUIA, Police Colonel Vitalii Pokaichuk, and the Head of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine, Kristyna Rezvorovych.
In addition, by order of the National Police of Ukraine dated 12.05.2026 No. 595, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Firearms Training of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Major Oleksandr Karpenko, was promoted as a form of encouragement to a special police rank one level higher than the rank предусмотрен by his штатна position — Police Lieutenant Colonel.
Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksandr Tarasenko highlighted the issue of the current state of scientific support for specialized training areas for higher education students in higher education institutions belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The participants also reviewed the state of scientific and expert support for the development of regulatory legal acts and strategic planning documents предусмотрених by the Rule of Law Roadmap and the action plan aimed at implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Reform Plan for law enforcement agencies as part of the security and defense sector of Ukraine for 2023–2027. Heads of higher education institutions reported on the involvement of scientific teams in this work and its interim results.
