Emotional Hygiene and Recovery of Internal Resources: Psychological Training at DSUIA

NEWS

Participants of the training included trainees of the Center for Special Professional Training “Police Academy” of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

The event was conducted by specialists of the Psychological Support Department of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs within the framework of the “Point of Psychological Practices” project.

During the event, participants mastered a series of special psycho-training exercises that will help them better recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions. They became familiar with the concept of emotional hygiene, its components, and its importance in police work. A special feature of the training was the constant feedback between participants, which made it possible to create a flexible and effective interaction process.

Head of the Psychological Support Department of DSUIA Serhii Vyshnevskyi emphasized that modern conditions have a complex psychological impact on individuals, which makes emotional self-regulation skills increasingly relevant every day. For police officers, this means systematic work on the ability to recognize their own emotions, resist stress, and strengthen psychological resilience through regular psychological practices. An insufficient level of such skills can significantly negatively affect professional activity.

Moderator of the event Vladyslav Bidniak noted that an important part of the training consisted of discussions regarding psychological and practical aspects of applying emotional self-regulation skills during studies and professional activity. Participants paid special attention to personal methods of maintaining and controlling their emotional state, as well as their importance in police work. They also discussed ways to prevent emotional burnout under modern conditions. The psychologist emphasized that the topic of the training corresponds to the objectives of the “Point of Psychological Practices” project, as its primary goal is to teach participants methods of self-regulation, grounding techniques, and stabilization of the psycho-emotional state.

The practical significance of the event lies in the development of psychological resilience and awareness among future police officers, enabling them to maintain efficiency and working capacity under conditions of prolonged stress.
