The sporting event brought together representatives of the regional university community to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop teamwork, and strengthen interuniversity cooperation.
The tournament, traditionally dedicated to the Day of Science, featured teams from four higher education institutions of Dnipro: Dnipro University of Technology, Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, and the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. The event was held with the support of the Football Association of Dnipropetrovsk Region.
Acting Rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalina, Head of the Science and Higher Education Department of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Mykola Kravchenko, and Head of the Young Scientists Council of Dnipropetrovsk Region Roman Maliehin addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. They congratulated the teams and emphasized the importance of supporting sports initiatives within the academic and scientific environment, which contribute to team unity and the development of close interuniversity communication.
During the matches, the participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, strong sportsmanship, and coordinated teamwork. The DSUIA football players confidently performed both in attack and defense, created dangerous scoring opportunities, and fought intensely for possession of the ball.
According to the tournament results, the team of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs won silver medals, narrowly уступив to the team of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. The athletes from Dnipro University of Technology took third place.
The Young Scientists Council Cup once again became a platform for the development of sports culture, professional interaction, and strengthening team spirit among academic and scientific staff of the region’s higher education institutions.
